Belonging

Belonging is part of a series inspired by the artist’s childhood memories of Central Ukraine. Based on an old family photograph taken in a field of wild poppies, the work transforms a personal memory into a meditation on displacement and belonging. The figure dissolving into the landscape reflects a connection to place that persists even as it becomes distant and inaccessible. The work asks how we carry a sense of home with us when the places that shaped us are no longer within memory or geographical reach.
