Research Report

City and People l 2009

The urban planning is a fascinating and important part of everyday. The old designs need new solutions and new designs need thorough understanding to avoid past mistakes. This whole process is about people and therefore, should work for people. In North America and particularly, in Toronto pedestrian planning is promising, but can further be improved. The essential goal of this project is to raise awareness and attention from general public and look at possible ways to improve the mobility in everyday life of Torontonians.

This project aims to further understand people’s movement through different research and design methods. It consists of three main steps: problem identification, research, and final data presentation. The first step identifies the existing problem and explains why the issue is important. The second, and the most important step, is to thoroughly research the issue and propose possible solutions. The last step consists of visualizing data and compiling infographics in a short report for the City of Toronto and general public.
